I really like the 685nm image. It shows the faculae really well. It reminds me of the Antlia 393.3nm K-line filter.

This is as close as I have come Stephen knowing our eyes just pick up more dynamic range than our cameras, I just can't get flaring areas to look like they do in an eyepiece. For this I used a B&W set to RGB in Photoshop and then did an adjustment layer in Levels with the following settings on ...

Today is largely overcast but I have managed to see through the thinner areas in the cloud layer using my little Lunt 8x32 white light solar binoculars. I can see four regions on the Sun today. In the NE quadrant I can see AR13619 as a single spot. The NW quadrant shows AR13614 also as a single spot...

The plasma looks really turbulent in your images. It reminds me of the dark turbulent clouds that often precede a thunderstorm.

Update! Here is the bullseye CME from the X class flaring event as seen a few hours after the event by the SOHO LASKOC2 coronagraph. We may get some serious aurorae out of this one!

Very nice view from the Lunt 60 MT. I am currently struggling to see through and between clouds with my Coronado SMII60 and my visual view of AR13615 looks very similar.
