Fire and Ice during NEAF

Greetings friends, I know many of you will be headed to NEAIC and NEAF next week. I wanted to suggest a possible lunch or dinnertime adventure. For the past several years I have been working on a body of photographic prints of my solar images. This pas...

Re: Big Prom over Two Days

Thank you all very much! it has not been a very productive summer for me - poor seeing teaming up with a quiet sun. I am happy to have something new to share.

all the best,
Alan

Just another voice of fond appreciation for Walter. His kind voice has been a part of the solar community for many years and will be missed. Thank you for sharing the information and thoughts Mark.

Rounding up the regular suspects

Had a few moments to capture the nice activities of the past few days between thunderstorms... prominence with my 3.5" scope, active region with my 10" scope and Baader Astrosolar film. http://www.avertedimagination.com/img_pages/fathersdayprom.html http://www.avertedimagination.com/img_pages/master...

Re: Sol of 19th of June from my rural observatory.

It's funny how the hot spot in the white light image seems so familiar - as it would be in any sunlit scene with a mix of light and shadows. It is not as distracting as it might have been in an Ha field - I didn't notice it until I read your message. The processing is very nice and detailed for a 6"...
