Re: Too much noise
Hi, Just a simple tip. Put Gain at 0 and then adjust your speed to get 95% on the live histogram and process these SER files ... Stretching the histogram too much gives you immediately noise ... Why do you insist in fast exposure time. IMHO in White light you will see no difference after stacking ....

Re: Too much noise
the exposure time is about 8ms (if I remember correctly) and even more to have a histogram above 70% I usually stack 150 200 frames, but seeing that those above average were smaller, I also dropped to less than 100, in addition to the astrosolar I use a uv/ircut and a 540nm baader. I don't know if this is the right chat Too much noise I'm fine-tuning the 80/1000 f12.5 refractor. I can't go down with the gain to have acceptable times, I always have to work at over 200 with the 1600mm and 20 with the 120mm, I'm using an astrosolar photo. Do you have any idea why, given that befo...

I think I have some collimation problem with the 80/1000 refractor, last night I adjusted the focuser a bit, it's completely off axis
I'm still fine-tuning everything, a shot this morning 540nm baader latest version
a lot of noise

Re: shooting time
I live in Rome and I'm practically in the centre, my terrace faces east and I can take pictures on average until 12 am, often the best photos come out by 10.30/11.30 am, after which the seeing degrades. in summer the terrace becomes a furnace, and if you wet the ground a lot of steam rises. sometime...

other tests I'm waiting for the Herschel prism, I have to remove the astrosolar filter, my gain is too high and I think it creates artifacts... but I'm not sure however this photo was taken through the grid 80/1000 asi1600mm barlowTV 2.5X (this works great) 540nm filter and uvir baader 80.jpeg 2023-...

Re: Uv/ir cut
I always get confused… at the top you mean near the sensor or the telescope? My doubt is, can a filter immediately after the sensor worsen the performance of the powermate or telecentric in general?

in WL with astrosolar, in front of the 540nm filter do I have to use a uv/ir filter? is the Baader filter suitable or do I have to use one in particular

Re: diaphragm
These thoughts come when you've been locked inside the house under a cloudy and rainy sky for a month... I understood that it's all a game of diameter, f and length. I ordered a herschel apm, and after a 430nm filter and surely I will have to close the aperture of my refractor and I thought a mechan...

Re: binning yes or no
After many posts read and as many calculations made, I can say I'm still confused :) Based on the formula (2000*pixel*diameter)/freq, with my 80/1000 I'm always out of sample I created a table with the focal values in WL for 393/440 frequencies, which from what I understand are the most useful ones ...
