Lunt 50 Aperture Glass Cloudy?

I’ve noticed on the front of my Lunt50 there is a very small cloudy part of the glass (looks similar to the blocking filter glass cloudy issue).

Has anyone seen this before and best way to rectify?

Thanks!

Which camera to purchase?

I am looking at adding another camera to my arsenal of solar imaging. Currently using the Player One Neptune-M (178MM) with my Quark Chrom in my Evostar 120/1000 refractor. I also use the same camera in my Lunt50THa B600. It gives me great full disc in the Lunt, the Chrom it’s a bit too zoomed in bu...

Just purchased the Neptune-M as it has the same sensor as the ZWO plus it has the tilt built in which was the selling point.

Once I receive it I will get it on the Lunt and report back with some photos!

Thank you all :)

The Neptune-M does look nice and for around the same price of the 178MM the fact that it comes with an in-built tilt is perfect. I always get Newton rings in my images.

I am using a Lunt50 (see sig below) and a Flea3 camera (https://www.avsupply.com/ITM/29702/FL3-U3-13Y3M-C.html). It's a great camera and got some really nice full disk photos of the Sun over the years. Would be nice if resolution could be higher though to get a bit more detail. Wondering if anyone t...

I have noticed with my Lunt I need to position the Sun on the far right to get the detail I need. If I position more in the centre or left of the FOV I lose detail on the far left of the disc. Re: Camera upgrade, maybe?

I wouldn't recommend a 178 unless you buy it from somewhere you can send it back if needed. They 'can' have a fixed pattern noise issue at Ha wavelengths, some cameras display it some don't, there's no magic software / flat fix you can do for it. The 290mm does not have this issue at all. Have a go...

Re: Flea3 FL3-U3-13Y3M-C Mono Lunt Focus Issue

I don't know if this may help or not. The Lunt focus range is accomplished through two means: 1) the focuser, which has a fairly limited travel of about 30 mm and 2) the drawtube, which has a larger range of adjustment, about 75 mm. The two add to one another. If you have been using only the focuse...
