Re: Thank you!!! Excitement!!! First light Lunt130MT

Alexandros, you have certainly captured not only some excellent shots, but excited the imagination as to holding the scope steady enough for the short exposures necessary from the 130. Just shows what can be done. Welcome to your 1st light and when eventually you can get one of the best priced-excel...

Re: May 13 2021 More White Light

Indeed Simon WL is fairly challenging compared to Ha and Cal-K, which themselves are not always easy either. Your WL captures are very well acquired and processed and thanks for sharing I've just completed the order for a new scope for WL & Lunar and DS, to replace the existing ORION ED80T-CF. D...

Re: May 13 2021 Observations.

many thanks James for another excellent and interesting report.

The SDO captures do show the current action well, compared to mine today which would have only showed showers of rain and no doubt got the scope and observatory very wet too - if the roof were opened.

Cheers

Re: 11th May'21 image - processing-request idea please ?

That exactly what I want to achieve Alexandra and I could envisage what this would look like with both CaK and Ha combined, so you have done well in getting me the result and methodology of doing this. Also even WL added in various ways could be interesting for future posts too... Thank you so much....

Re: 11th May'21 image - processing-request idea please ?

Many thanks Alexandra. I did look through the archives, but not the Solar Reference Library, so two thing have to be learnt and yes will try the similar possibilities with PaintShopPro, so probably into the observatory this evening to get to grips with this - finally. Will post something here/on the...

It certainly is an AR just within the limb but wasn't showing to be very active as of over 24-hours ago, but that can change - of course.

Excellent captures and the close-up's are just FAB...

Re: Heads Up 12th May

I must admit that I've been up all night in the observatory using the computer rather than any imaging, but I could stay-up to get some early Sun-burn whilst imaging it, but alas I have to do the necessaries and pay for a new scope to be imported as soon as possible for early June, so a few hours ki...

Sorry to say Minh, I've just spent over an hour trying to advise you for this problem, but once again the post has not registered in to your post this time, So now very briefly the attached image might assist as a Sombrero Hat type shade with the necessary holes for both the scope and also around th...

Thank you so much Minh and your remarks are relevant and well-noted. The prom image is (as you correctly state), apparently over-exposed and I did try to lesson the brightness etc., but with the loss of some of proms, which for this example I did not want to lose. :!: They could of course be from fl...

11th May'21 image - processing-request idea please ?

This image has been processed using my large hi-res screens in the observatory and would appreciate your comments as an example of what I can achieve - with very difficult-problems with eye-sight now, but hopefully soon - will get to improve my sight and captures in the future. I am using PaintShopP...

Ok on that Peter. I am about to go back into the observatory and will be looking at your email again, as I believe that you have hit a "nail on the head" so to speak with your mentioning "layers", which even though I've had PaintShopPro for many years, have never got round to dea...
