Can you remind me what's the Hɑ filter used?
I am also curious about the type of Ha filter.
I remember read somewhere Simon uses a Gemini. Sorry if I am wrong.

I did indeed. Looks like a lot of places all over the US over the next couple days have 5/5 seeing according to Clear Sky Charts

Oddly enough, so do I. The reason why I invert white light is to get a better look at the spots themselves. The convection cells when inverted always look super weird.

Re: FireCapture versus Sharpcap?

Im going to give a bad answer to SharpCap vs FireCap. The answer is neither is better than the other because they both do they same thing. Capture the RAW data and dump out the file. It's really about whos interface and work flow do you prefer. Ive used SharpCap for many years and i just got use to ...

Re: SolarSpectrum?

People are probably going to disagree with me, but with a larger scopes, seeing is critical. On top of that, pixel size means everything. For the C11, you really have to have that perfect seeing at 5/5 with transparency 4/5 to 5/5. Your camera pixel size needs to be 7um or larger. I cant always shoo...

1- In regards to settings, they differ from scope to scope so what works for me, doesnt mean it will work for you. Ive experimented for over 2 years to get the results I get, and i suggest you do the same. As a guide, i will say to keep gain below 139 for any ZWO camera as their "Unity Gain&quo...

The images that show surface and proms are not overlays or composite images. They are shot and processed as is. Shooting in 16 bit (ASI174MM is actually only getting 12 bit) allows you to see more than what is there. The processing that i use allows for both to show up at the same time. Wow, really ...
