Re: Animated Giff of detached prom

I see a Yorkshire Terrier blend into a spaniel and end up as a Westie… is your pup behaving whilst you image and keeping your feet warm as you process?
Fascinating movement is a pleasure to watch 👌

Amazing animations Arne. I really loved the spicules dancing in the first one and the twisting proms in the second.

Re: Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2023 Our Sun Category

Tristan’s natural white light image is by far my favourite too! I spent some time inverting h alpha images in the past for two reasons. Firstly the only self help tutorial videos I could find for using Autostakkert and ImPPG with h alpha imaging at the time perpetuated this popular inverted stylisti...

Re: CaK spots and proms 9th Sept

Excellent there Nic! C'mon how are you getting them on both sides now? When you all helped me understand why I was getting the ghostly glow around the right hand edge of my calcium images ( https://solarchatforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=40196) I started rotating the diagonal when imaging to note the ef...

CaK spots and proms 9th Sept

Hi all, Finally twigged how to manipulate my Lunt CaK B1200 to image proms on both the western and eastern limb! Great seeing for 2 images but the heat caused a wobble with the eastern prom image. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53191115136_bcac8ff4a3_h.jpg NS 09092023 0931 Sun CaK AR3418 3421 w...

Re: Concorde chasing the Moon’s Shadow

I'm about 100 miles from Jodrell Bank. I pass that area quite often as I have family over that way so it's an easy, familiar route. As I said, with York being fairly central, I can go anywhere in the UK pretty easily. My kit is very mobile. I'd just need to invest in a portable power supply for my g...

Re: Concorde chasing the Moon’s Shadow

Whoops, my misunderstanding I thought the Elgin meeting was specifically a solar section meeting but it was actually a generic BAA meeting which happened to contain a couple of solar presentations so there won't be a solar section meeting in future in person. They have solar section meetings via zoo...

Re: Concorde chasing the Moon’s Shadow

Like you, I was thinking a BAA meeting would maybe be a good plan. The solar section meeting sept 2022 was in Elgin Scotland so I’m wondering whether they’ll have another next year. This year’s was online. I’ll travel willingly to anywhere in UK as it’s very easy from York with being central. I’m li...

Re: Concorde chasing the Moon’s Shadow

Thanks Michael,
Like you, I’d be keen for an in person Solarchat group meet up of any kind! Your suggestion is great and I would certainly try to attend a meet in Europe. I’d also definitely be be interested in a more local Solarfest event so will keep my fingers crossed.

G-Band Solar Contrast Filter 1.25” 430.3nm

Hi all, I’ve had fun trying this G band filter and am really impressed with it. Very simply however, I prefer imaging with a Solar Continuum filter for WL so I have decided to sell this onwards for someone else to enjoy. Used very carefully indeed 5 times since I bought it end of June this year. Gen...

We have some giddy pups 🐾🐾 staying with us so I’ll keep the ‘singing’ on mute. I’ll take them for a long walk in the hope of tiring them out beforehand!
