I wouldn't be so literal Nic, as Stu say's, the 2.4" will be an average. The seeing, particularly here in the UK will vary a lot. For example, today my SSM was jumping about between 1.2" - 5+ ". Remember the point of stacking a video is to get the best frames over that period e.g. 30s...

Where are you getting the idea that you have to stop down to 60mm? It's all about critical sampling taking the conditions and equipment into account. Thanks folks, patience really paid off here as the rest of the captures from this session were mediocre at best.
Still can't complain as it was a lovely day in the garden and we have lots of action at the nest boxes just now with youngsters fledging and busy parents.

It can be quite tricky to get on target with a Quark due to the 4.2x barlow.
