Re: 19 July 2024 - HA - trying new colour palate

Thanks all. Yes colour is definitely a v personal thing - you never quite see it the same way as anyone else (and that's before you even get into different monitor settings!). To my eyes the bright orange almost seems too vivid, but so far (including offline feedback) more ppl seem to be preferring ...

19 July 2024 - HA - trying new colour palate

I thought I'd try a more vivid colour scheme - does it work? The imaging itself on the day was too late so seeing probably wasn't as great as had I done it earlier. 19 July 2024 - CaH

Having listed my old ASI 178MMCool for sale, I thought I'd swap cameras and use that instead of the Altair 183MM. Same sensor and the results are pleasing - I think I may keep the 178MMcool and list the 183MM instead (as the 178MMcool is more versatile as it can also do DSO colled camera duty)...

Beautiful. I've wondered whether no ND filters at all in a wedge would be too much for a G-band, but it looks like that's not the case (even up to 150mm aperture) - hurray. Probably showing my ignorance here but if you stack the CaK and the Continuum filters, shouldn't that be opaque or does the con...
