Never had issues with combining channels in pixinsight. I mostly use it for ds imaging, but, for lunar imaging I do apply deconvolution and local histogram equalization with pix. You can do that under tiff format. I also usually do the channel combination after linear fitting of the rgb channels whe...

Hi Dennis, I kept the exposures quite long, since I did not want to exceed with the gain. Besides with my laptop I do not reach extremely high fps rates, around 60 fps at 1600 X 900, at higher rates (that one can obtain by playing with the USB settings) I start getting artifacts

This is great. G band is the near UV ? Do you need to reduce the aperture to control spherical aberration ? I own a TS 130 triplet refractor at F 7, which should be similar to the tecnosky (as far I understood, the same optical company produces the same OTAs which are then rebrandized by different f...

Inverted provides a more 3dimensional feeling, but the normal image is more scientifically sound, and it is the way it is perceived by through our vision, cold areas are darker and hot areas brighter.
I think it is just a matter of personal taste

Halpha closeups with some flaring

Yesterday, sunday 5th I had average seeing conditions, with decent transparency but with wind gusts. I imaged with the 130 mm refractor and ASI 294 mono at F 28 with the TZ 4 and quark. Both the magnetically complex active regions 3663 and 3664 showed some flaring around 9.30-11.30 UT. I composed a ...

Nice results James I think you achieved a very good resolution for that aperture. Processing is also very well executed. If seeing supports it, what happens if you image with the full aperture, do you observe a large decrease in contrast ? What is the the ideal focal ratio for k line imaging ?
