Re: Baader D-ERF or Lunt ERF?

I'm afraid it won't work for you with the 1.25 focal shift. This is an optical element that only shifts the focus but does not change the beam angle. It's not Barlow. It behaves similarly to a pair of lenses in the etalon. These will also shift the focus but maintain the beam angle. Correct position...

Today's big prom 30.11.

An unexpected half hour of sunshine allowed me to take some photos of the prom. Seeing is already chronically bad.

Re: Baader D-ERF or Lunt ERF?

If my information is correct, D-ERF contains dielectric reflective layers and hardly absorbs heat. Lunt's ERF is red glass with an IR coating so it absorbs more heat. I know two colleagues who have been running an AR150 for a long time with a 53mm ERF from Lunt in a combination of 2" H-a 35nm. ...

The Sun 27.11. with new setup

I had to try it, although again the conditions were very bad and time was short. Finally, my little tweak to the daily mount setting. :) The telescope has become a decent monster. Weight 14 kg, length almost 2 meters. A small assembly with harmonic gearboxes that does not weigh half as much has abso...

Re: First ligth with etalons Quark combo and Lunt LS40.

Great set up Pupak. Nice machining work on the etalon housing and the adapters. Considering poor conditions the set up is already showing great potential. What are the adapters between the draw tube on the Quark and the nose piece of the Player One camera and what are their purpose? It seems to cre...

Re: First ligth with etalons Quark combo and Lunt LS40.

I don't use two blocking filters. It's just Quark blocking filter. He is not in front, but behind Quark. You should use it infront of your Quark, you risk damaging the Quark. At the input is a DERF 180mm, then a 2" H-a 35nm, behind it is a TZ3x telecentric element, a Lunt LS40 etalon, a Quark ...

Re: Lunt 40mm module help

In order to prevent misalignment due to deflection, I created a rigid lattice coupling. The telecentric member is located in a 2.5" elevator, so the elevator load is minimal.

Re: Lunt 40mm module help

The classic Quark is designed as an eyepiece, so it has a blocking and DERF filter before the telecentric element. Nothing prevents you from replacing the telecentric element with another and using a blocking filter from LUNT with an eyepiece or camera. Before Quark I put 2" UV/IR cut, or H-a 3...
