Today sun in focus 6m (07.10.22)

A rare half hour of good seeing again this afternoon. We therefore tested the 6m focal length on the AR150/F8 and the IMX432.It was difficult just to sharpen, but in the end we gained a little.

Re: Active coolers for sun cameras Apollo and Saturn

I tried the Peltier. The temperature is about -10 degrees Celsius lower, which is not of fundamental importance and is a more complicated solution. It's not about noise reduction, it's about protecting the chip from being overplayed. For effective Peltier cooling, the cooler would have to be signifi...

The afternoon Sun pleasantly surprised us today with unusually calm seeing. Unfortunately, it only lasted a while. :)

Re: Scary face in the Sun 04.10.

With IMX553 is exposure between 15-20ms. For IMX 432 is it 2-5 ms.

Re: Active coolers for sun cameras Apollo and Saturn

Etalons Lunt LS80T-Ha and DSII - focal length

Focal length of the collimation and correction lens for the Lunt LS80T-Ha and DSII standard.
Does anyone know the focal values of these lenses?

Re: Todays shots between clouds 02.10.

Seeing was so bad that it was impossible to focus. I had to focus by guesswork and trash 4/5 of the sequences.
