Lovely images, Petr. That scope amazes and terrifies me at the same time. ;) Stu. It's a monster, but it works well. This monster hadn't been out for a long time, so I took her out in the sun. There was no danger of getting burned because the sun was 90% of the time behind clouds and in a haze. It was a struggle to produce 4 photos with dual setup. On the one hand TV4x and on the other hand TZ4. The haze made the ...

It's a good idea to 3D print a bracket that slides onto the Quark and has a tight opening for the connector body. This prevents mechanical stress on the connector and eliminates problems.

Re: Can you stack two tele-centric barlows?

If you do a simulation in Optgeo, it will become clear to you that it is unusable for solar purposes. A telecentric bundle emerges from the first element, not a convergent one as expected by the second element. In principle, it can no longer function properly. If the first element is Barlow, the out...

Was there a benefit to adding the 1.5x barlow plus the 0.75x reducer, as opposed to just the 3x by itself?

Definitely yes. The F27 has significantly less contrast and a 3D effect.

Thank you all for the positive feedback.
Just one technical note. If you put a divergent lens in front of the TZ3, you need to adjust the focal plane distance of the TZ3. It will no longer be 250mm, but will be shortened to approx. 200mm. It needs to be tested until the contrast is the best.

ISTAR 228/F9 in midday sun 11.4.

It cleared up at noon, so I tried another telecenter option. 1.25" Barlow 1.5x in combination with TZ3x. IMX429 camera with 0.75x reducer.
Seeing was lousy in the midday sun, but I expected that. The combination proved well usable on ISTAR.

Hi I have a 2" 2x ES and 1.25" 2x ES, with two doublets in each. The fronts are black but have no lettering. The 2x and 3x black rings you show look like they come off a normal barlow. In any case you could not remove the front doublet from a telecentric barlow and just screw it on to a c...

The deflection is not great. I was just trying different variants with regard to combinations of Barlow and telecentric optics. Barlow has no negative impact on image quality with either the TV4x or the TZ3 or TZ4. This is a very positive finding when using telescopes with a shorter focal length.

Games with telecenters and cameras AR150/F6 - 8.4.

The milky days continue, so I've been testing different combinations of telecentres and cameras. Before TZ3 and TZ4 I put 1.25" Barlow 1.5x and on TV4x 2" Barlow 2x. I got as far as F48. You could see it on the contrast, but the exposure time reached 20-25 ms. I reduced the smaller chips t...

When I used the LS40 as a front, uniformity was good with both. In DSII with Quark, the diameter is limited by BF to 20mm. Glare issues were minimal. It is important to blacken everything. I don't know the bandwidth. I guess 0.8-1A. In tandem, the bandwidth is about 0.5-0.6A, but with F48 and more. ...
