Animation SW Prominence testing replaced Quark

I have been waiting for what seems like ages to get some time to test out my Quark Chromosphere that was replaced under warranty... I managed several hours of testing yesterday; the seeing was well below par but early results are that this one should do the job on Solar Prominences quite nicely. I u...

Re: Thursday Session Ha 11-04-2024

I think I got lucky after lunch Martin. The wind was from the South where I am protected. The Solar Scintillation Monitor and Telescopius were in agreement that things had improved in the afternoon. Though much of my morning session was discarded, I can see you have finer detail around AR 3628 than ...

Great shots and I admit, I love filaproms when inverted in an animation! They just look alive! Thanks Warren. Came up a bit darker on my phone than it looked when I posted it. I might revisit but I am with you inverted images serve their purpose and animations of thick snaking filaproms are a great...

AR3635 & Filaprom animation Up n Over Down Under

G'Day from Down Under! I managed just short of 90 minutes on the NE limb of the Sun this afternoon (my time). The animation shows AR3635 and a filaprom on the limb. Presented as an inverted image to better show the Filaprom.  Captured  UT 2024/04/11 02:23 to 03:51 A couple of happy snaps including a...

AR3628 Animation Up n Over Down Under

Challenging day for a whole host of reasons. So I didn't start until late and that put me in the Western danger zone, well for me anyway. Add to that an increasing Jetstream, with the end results as seen in the 110 minute animation. I had to delete a number of frames to even get it to this, but its ...

Thanks all, this now looks more like it is AR3628 which hadn't been named on Spaceweather or Solar Synoptic chart when I caught this yesterday. AR3627 was noted just to the East. I can't image today but I am more convinced my catch is actually the larger AR3628 after looking at GONG just now.

Animation AR3628 Up n Over Down Under

Seeing was somewhat on the improve this morning though there were moments when it went to mush. But I did manage to capture 2 hours of emerging AR3628 on the Suns Eastern limb from UT 2024/04/03 00:02 to 02:12

Thanks for presenting Franco. I use the Daystar Interference Eliminator, but it may add just as much space as the ZWO tilter. I assume you don't use an extension tube that you could leave out. The Daystar is more expensive than the ZWO tilter but I find easier to remove the NR.
