MalVeaux - Here is a buy & fly solar flare monitor aka an SIDmonitor; SID = sudden ionospheric disturbance

https://solar-center.stanford.edu/SID/sidmonitor/

meets your criteria except for building the antenna which is a piece of cake.

Re: RMO Radio Meteor Observation

Rainer - I noticed that your demod is in the QRSS3-slow mode. Try a plain CW or SSB mode and see if the high counts go away.

Re: Triple stack with a singe filter - just being silly...

Lunt tried tried a "double pass" with one etalon, and almost made it. When they decided to bail out, they came up with the LS60 with a front mounted 50 mm etalon to keep the customers happy because they did not get the "double pass"

Re: How to calculate resulting bandpass?

Dennis - I'll offer a GUESS at your request to calculate effective etalon bandwidths. I have a spreadsheet that calculates the effective bandwidths of two etalons. The solution provides the FWHM, 1%, and 10% bandwidths. I do not have an answer for three etalons unless they all are the same bandwidth...

Rainer - What happened to your neighbor-he has not shown a meteor scatter presence on RMOB for quite a while?
