Both of these images are absolutely stunning. Both of them and especially the first one of AR12781 show the awesome power of the local solar magnetic field to shape the solarscape around those spots. Probably the largest sunspot region of the cycle, AR12781, making an impressive show this week. There's a nice filament arching over the spots on the left.

Full disk from today. Just the one tiny active region remnant S6321. No prominences to speak of so I only did the surface exposure.

Thanks! That was with an LS80 double stacked. It's impossible for me to get an evenly illuminated full disc with the DS.

Not much going on but I replaced my blue glass and wanted to test it. Not a sunspot to be seen. We've now had 268 spotless days this year and on the verge of an historic low. Tomorrow will be 269 spotless days, the most since the year 1913.

I do like the camera's combination of speed, size, SNR, and price. I don't like the Newton's rings, though. Sometimes my images are at odd orientations because I rotate the camera to minimize the interference pattern.

ISS Transit

Not the Sun, but I used the same setup that I use for the Sun (sans H-a filter) to catch the ISS transiting the crescent moon. It wasn't far from the Sun.

Catching the transit in H-a would be awesome, but the exposures are longer and the motion might blur.
