Sai, I had a little play with your image, how many images do you stack? usually I take around 1000 frames in a video and stack 5%. ImPPG settings Sai.jpg Sai 01.jpg right click on the image and 'view in another tab for higher resolution viewing A very nice image :) without the pretty colours though ...

On the bright side James, if you have the cataract surgery you will have no excuse not to buy a Calcium K wedge and enjoy all the visual delight of the lower chromosphere

I guess if you are viewing the annular eclipse next month which requires a solar filter at all times, I think I would go for Halpha so you can see the proms

A total eclipse requires no filter at all.

A partial eclipse will always need a solar filter, so use whichever you prefer.

Have you tried ImPGG for sharpening? it is one of the most easy for use on the Sun.
