Nice shot and thanks for the solar update John!

I was wondering a couple of days ago the same - but I would say the suns southern hemisphere peak, but after the past couple of days it should recover a bit for the month of October (I think!)

I've only ever done aurora photography in sub zero temperatures and battery endurance is the issue in the cold. This will apply to you with your cameras and also any tracking you use. I don't know for sure but you may find that any grease in a tracking mount gears freezes in the cold, it will certai...

Was the etalon rotated at all between images?

I wonder if this band is caused by tilt (sag) of the etalon?

How is it all connected up?
