Hi James,

Thanks for drawing our attention to these ARs. Stereo, Gong, SDO are invaluable resources for me too. Really appreciate them.

Re: 26May - Experimenting with ARIES D-ERF +C11+ Televue x2.5 barlow - New Image added 27 May

There is certainly a synergy with the 2.5x powermate and the C11, it sharpens up considerably compared to your other barlow/s. You can see how the seeing varies between the images. The one from the 26th is certainly one of your best to date. A circular polariser would certainly get rid of the refle...

Re: 26May - Experimenting with ARIES D-ERF +C11+Lunt CAK + PST Yellow + Televue x2.5 barlow

Here is my take in this Alfred's image processing. He sent me this raw file and I cropped an upper left corner of it and processed this crop. You can see the result. I think that the seeing is OK and it reached a diffraction resolution. The scale is about 0.17"/pix. For 220mm aperture resolution is...

The detail in this image is really super Alfred, I would be over the moon (and the Sun) to get an image like this. I had to send in further details of my imaging train to TeleVue last night, but I have not had any reply with any answers yet. You will be the first to know rest assured :) Alexandra H...

Yes, the reflected light with the Televue x2.5 powermate is still there. I found a recording of the AR taken yesterday (26May): https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-25RV_xOXgD4/Xs5mPKtDGiI/AAAAAAAAqnU/HlSpE1K-QM8wz9DoaOMscph4U8is8BsOgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/090740%2B500f1i2crmkUSM.tif As pointed out earlier, the reg...

Second, I don't remember exactly how I get rid of this reflection. This is not due Powermate itself. This includes pre-filters of Lunt or others. What I remember is that I change space(s) and back focus of the telescope and camera distance in the PM tube. Valery Hi Valery, First, thank you for your...

All the Powermate tips and tricks are discussed here https://solarchatforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27721 Using a flat is not really an option, it gets rid of the gradient but the stacking and clarity is not the same in that region and I can see this drop in quality on yours as well. Alfred, is that a barlow or a powermate? if it is the powermate I am still waiting to hear what Televue have to say about this. I had an automated reply saying that due to Covid-19 they were forbidden to talk to me via e-mail. They would respond after 15th May. I haven't heard anything back yet. My...
