Hi Pedro... Superb set of images and always enjoy the landscape and equipment pics that you share :bow I am surprised t the temps you re experiencing, especially with the green landscape (full foliage on the trees in the background of the observatory pic). I trust these trees are not deciduous and a...

Hi Stuart...

Great to see the readings you captured for the storm. Lots of cloud cover so no chance to catch a glimpse of any activity had it occurred.

Mike and Stu...

Thanks fro your comments :bow

Mike, you raised an interesting point about the horizontal bands...I pretty much had to have the exposure as low as it would go to take the image. Will have to check this more closely next day its clear.

Re: pic from months ago (2018)

Good first pic and the proms are visible...too bad the activity is so low when you are trying to figure the imaging out!

Also good to hear that you have a motorized focuser being installed. Hope you get the system back soon and put it to use.

Re: January 4th Sun

Thanks Alexandra, I figured you would like the tuning set :bow

I can't explain the horizontal lines in the one CaK shot, but not the first I've seen them (thankfully only show up a limited number of times before). I will have to keep better track of the settings/conditions in the future.

Maurits and Mark... Thanks for your comments and feedback guys, always appreciated :bow I like to adjust the tuning and see what differences appear, but the Lunt makes the change very quick with the pressure tuner. January 4th Sun

Good day everyone... I was fortunate to have another clear day on Friday (Jan 4th) and managed to get some time to image over the lunch hour. Seeing was typical for winter (poor, but not as bad as some days ;) ) and most of the images were usable with the exception of the prom shots. The sequence st...

When I looked at the housing I though the o-rings were just a preformed ridges not individual rings...that was why I missed them, LOL.

Re: PST Etalon Adjustment

My PST has the O-rings, I just overlooked them since I was not looking for them in that location. They are a lot finer than any I'm used to as well. They look to be in pretty good shape but I can check on a replacement set. It looks like they are meant to keep the tuning ring from 'rocking' which wo...
