1st of July

Just a quick collage from this morning.Alexandra a Heron nearly landed on me this morning and when I put the head torch on it it let out a mournful shreak scared me as much as I scared it.

Thanks.Rainer that hue is due to the canon Ra being in Cloudy White balance .Due to its greater Ha sensitivity it does weird things in early morning and late afternoon light.I could correct it but I like the effect.

Boring I highly doubt it.That is a very informative post and goes to show that with Solar it’s an ongoing experiment.Interesting that f seems to me to lie somewhere between a and c .It will be good to see what the DS unit achieves with each of these setting. A lot of configurations but worth it.

Alexandra as I haven,t viewed any of your images for a while all I can say is WOW I am impressed with that C11 result.As for that feature I vaguely remember seeing something like that many years ago.

Thanks.No unfortunately I don,t post any full size shots .they just get printed and put on the shed walls.That pic would be good for A4 maybe A3 printing. There is some noise there at larger sizes which seems fine when its printed,Try this one.

Managed this at Sunset ,Quite difficult with the seeing and twilight .Still keeps me on my toes and always looking to improve. Not as good as last months over Mt Warning but more challenging.

The last collage had the same camera settings apart from aperture and ISO.Interesting how the colour changes as the Sun rises.

Alexandra .Preferably a full frame camera.ISO SET from 4000 to 6400 for 25 t0 30 seconds.Longer if you have a tracking mount.A wide angle lens 11-24mm prime or zoom opened right up at f2.8 or less.My pic was taken with a Canon Ra 14mm Sigma lens at f1.8 30seconds at ISO 4000. I just saw this and I thought this will be good but its excellent. The clouds really add to the effect. Stu one of the best transits I,ve seen. Make sure you store a backup somewhere.
