G4 Geomagnetic Storm

Wowzer.... G4 geomagnetic storm in progress! There are likely to be some stunning aurora if it continues through the hours of darkness. My magnetometer kicked into life mid-afternoon when a CME resulting from a recent X-class solar flare struck earlier than predicted (according to Spaceweather.com)....

A beautiful day, but awful seeing for the most part for anything up-close. I did manage a close view of AR13615 mid-flare and tried something a bit different to capture the full 'depth' of the event using an HDR approach, with 5 steps captured at different levels of exposure from very dim to normal....

Stu, I think these are terrific! You’ve caught the fascinating active regions and presented them beautifully for comparison in different lights. I think when we’re in battle with the elements and frustrated with repeated attempts at processing our brains flip and only see the imperfections. Maybe y...

Nice images, Dominik,

I prefer the non inverted images over the inverted ones, but that’s just me.
One comment I would make is that you might want to increase the size of the surface disk slightly prior to combining in order to cover up the white line around the limb.
