Re: Internal double stacking a Lunt 60Tha with a 80mm DS2

Gentelmen, I confirm that LS60Tha works very good with LS100 DSII module. I checked it 10 minutes ago :)
Minor ghost effect and glowing. Surface detail is much improved as it should be in double stack. Proms and active regions are very contrasty.

ADAPTERS - Lunt LS35 double stack and SM90 to TS/AT 90mm apo

Hi, I have two adapters I no longer use. 1. Rotating double stacking adapter for Lunt LS35Tha. You can just unscrew front etalon from any LS35 and using my adapter put it to other one and have double stacked system. Rotation eliminates ghost efect. 2. Will do tests using plywood parts (I make big dobs so have plenty) and when find optimal position, I'll order carbon fiber tube. Then some lathe work and anodizing. I already have Moonlite focuser. Seems easy but, I don't think it will be.

Can you please tell me what is reasonable minimum size of sub ERF? I mean, what should be subERF/objective ratio to have it still safe for internal etalon.

Lunt in LS100THa and LS152Tha puts quite small ERFs. Do they use something else than Baader style ERF?

Thanks in advance for that info :)

Ok, I understand. But if you want to get full disk, big sensor is not the only solution. You could use shorter focal lenght, try with some focal reducers. I have one (cheap) 0,5x focal reducer that gives me full disk at 714mm FL and 1/3" sensor. But it's quality is poor so images are also poor....
