Yeah it's calm. Good timing for me, it looks like a no-go cloudy day again for me. So for me it's GONG, SDO and all you imagers/observers on SolarChat. That's not a bad thing!

Only a few minutes after I post these I get an alert from SpaceWeatherLive on my phone. I think this is indicative of a flare on the SE limb!!

Following Terry's lead I check on the Sun before going to bed tonight. Here's what the SDO shows. I think the SE has an approaching active region on the SE limb as Terry has shown on the STEREO image. Look at that prom! And is that bright spot a flare that I see above it!? Being the diehard solar observer I am, I hardly post here on Sunlit Earth but I do in fact like nature photography. For Rock Hill it was actually a bit cooler than typical. 30C plus is common there. My Edneyville home in the NC mountains is always a bit cooler.
