That’s impressive. The prominence tore in half with the top part spiraling away as a CME leaving behind the arc that Terry posted the image of. I saw no trace of the arc when I observed. It probably got pulled back into the sun.

Ah, I overlooked that. Terry caught it earlier today via an SDOAIA304 image as an arch prom. I’ll see if I can find an animation of the liftoff when I get home from work.

WoW!! The Rocket 🚀 Prom has lifted off. I wondered what happened to it. I thought it may have been a filament just inside the SE limb but thought it probably wasn’t since that filament seemed positioned just a bit too far inside the limb. You solved it John! Is the latter image from SOHO?

Very nice images Arne. Your Ha image easily outperforms it's GONG equivalents. Nice coloring too. And plages/faculae show so well in CaK!

Session time is from 17:05 until 17:52 UTC. The skies are clear with just below average seeing. The temperature is 43F ( 6.1C ). Breezy. Very nice work Stephen. The big prom looks very close to it's appearance I had in my Coronado SMII90. We must have been at the scopes at the same time or close to it.

The prom shows up well in CaK. Ken will be interested in seeing this!

It does seem to show something there marking the positions of where the disturbed area should be. The textured look reminds me of the textured ceilings in some houses! :-)

I can certainly see a large patch of disturbance in both. And what appears to be a filament. Inverted images should show the magnetic induced disturbances very well also.

Eric, I'll certainly check out your images. I can see why Alexandra would use your images for the February challenge, Heliomagnetism. Your images are sharp enough to easily resolve the spicule mottles affected by the strong magnetic fields surrounding active regions affecting the surrounding chromos...

Very nice full discs Arne. That Coronado SMII60 did well! The William Optics scope worked well on the CaK image as well.
