Hi

I would not remove bits of the Quark assembly for your own safety.

But if you removed the red filter the off band light coming through would swamp the CCD and reduce contrast, A lot I would think.

They are a good scope. I have the MN78 which was used on Sky at Night for a Venus transit.

I was surprised this week that 2x or 3x with an F7.5 produced good images when I used a Quark Chromo and a PST Etalon in Double stack.

However your full disk image looks over-stretched compared to my visual short extender images and the double stack.

Hi Welcome to the land of F40+. I use stacked 3x and 2x TE to get there with my 90mm F6.7 and Quark Combo Chromo. The 80mm F15 does well at F60 with Baader TZ2 and 2X TE. Put the 90mm F6.7 back on the mount.

F40 does not look as smoky anymore.

VK 3x TE DS with PST Etalon works. Same size as 2X on 127mm F7.5 but a bit dimmer.

Around 1800mm FL seems good for me visually.

A nice disk.

Pretty much as I saw it with my new Quark Chromo and PST Etalon double stacked set up.

The two small spikes at 3.00 in a little active area which threw out a faint curved prom with internal features.
