Is it worth going to Niagara Falls, Ontario for April 8 or will it be too cloudy?

I have a friend in Niagara Falls but he isn't too confident in clear skies. Instead he is thinking of Texas or Mexico. Would you take the chance to make a booking to Niagara Falls at all?

What are your favorite solar astronomy books available for download?

I found a PDF Sunspots by Bray and Loughead and Solar Granulation is available on archive.org. However the entire book cannot be freely downloaded and it is only available for viewing for an hour when you borrow it. Does anyone have Solar Granulation?

Thanks

Celestron extends their line of Eclipsmart Solar Binoculars for 2024 Eclipse!

https://www.celestron.com/products/ecli ... binoculars

Now there are sizes up to 20x50 Eclipsmart binoculars. I own the Meade Eclipseview 10x50 binoculars with removeable filters but the screwing system on the side leaves dents onto the body.

Do you use any of these binoculars?

Is it possible for there to be portable H-Alpha solar binoculars?

Technology is constantly improving and there are more offerings of solar telescopes available than before. Do you see the possibility of a company like Lunt, Daystar, or Coronado releasing portable H-alpha solar binoculars? What would the main challenges be?

Have you tried new smart imaging telescopes like Stellina or Unistellar eVscope?

I haven't seen any of these new robotic imaging telescopes in person yet but they are being promoted online and in magazines. I'm curious about this new imaging technology in smart telescopes and how it compares to traditional visual astronomy through an eyepiece. Have you tried them, and what are y...
