Well, I must say that you give the definition of "aperture fever" a whole new meaning. (-; Interesting approach, a battle between a normal Newton with a D-Erf and a Newton with a special coating like The T250 Solar Newton presented here. The coatings were done by MCM Optique in France. The...

Hard to say if it really makes the images better. Seeing is everything.....
But it seems a bit easier to focus: it snaps more in and out of focus, so that is good news.

Can't tell you that. I suppose it is a ND5.0 filter made out of glass? Then your exposure time would be substantially longer. So more effect of the seeing.
Normally only quite expensive glass filters can compete with the advantages of Astrosolar.

Hi Martin,
Yes, you would get better results: bigger aperture.
You would need the Baader ND3.8 Astrosolar. This is just for imaging, not visual.
You can buy a complete filter or a sheet of Astrosolar. Then you would have to make your own holder.
BTW: nice images, that 2741 is a real beauty.
CS! Bart.

Hi Franco, Sync to target is useful when your slew to target is a bit off. So imagine you want to look at M31. Your mount is in the zero position, polar alignment is as good as you can get it. You let the telescope slew to M31. But you are a bit off. So you have to slew manually to M31. When it is i...

And I agree with Alexandra about that beautiful phenomenon.
But please: blow those tiny dust speckles away. (-;
One question. What did you use as the trigger and (I forgot the name of the other) value? Were you not afraid that there could be big gaps between the different avi's?

It could be that one or two of the pre-blocking filters are degraded. That is why I asked if you changed the two inch nosepieces, they screw of easily. If you want to make a straight through version (better for imaging as Bob suggested), this is how I did it: https://solarchatforum.com/viewtopic.php...

And I should have said that I swapped the original 256 SSD for a bigger one. Everytime the free disk space was lower than 100 the fps dropped significantly.
