powermate on Lunt50THa
Is there anyone who has succeded to put a 2,5X powermate on the little Lunt50? If so, can you give me some tips on where in the imagetrain i should put it? And distance from blockfilter and to camera to achive fokus...
I allredy got the powermate so i thought i should try this out before i bye a bigger scope or a Daystar Quark for my Esprit 80...
The 50 works great for full disk pictures byt want to do some closeups...

Re: powermate on Lunt50THa
It's perfectly possible, yes. You place the powermate between the blocking filter and the camera.
I had to unscrew the actual powermate from the extension tube and screw on the camera directly in order to be able to reach focus. Televue has an adapter that basically screws right on and provides a T2 thread on the other end.
I've attached a few pictures to clarify what I mean exactly. Hope this helps.

Re: powermate on Lunt50THa
Hello:
I have been using a Lunt 50 double stacked and an ASI174mm camera, all without any problems with regard to full disk imaging. I'm trying to get closer using the Powermate with the Televue adapter as Jochen has described but don't seem to be able to get to focus with it. Is there something obviously wrong with my image train? Thanks for any help.

A warm welcome to the forum. Do you not have enough back focus with the setup?

Re: powermate on Lunt50THa
Welcome onboard Goose!
I can reach focus with my ASI178 in this situation:
My camera has 12.5mm backfocus to the sensor. Your camera got 5mm more, so you have to get inside 5mm more than my configuration.
It seems you have to put the diagonal BF into your focuser.
Hope you succeed

Re: powermate on Lunt50THa
Thanks for the advice. It seems like I'll have to go with a 12.5 backfocus to get this to work.

Re: powermate on Lunt50THa
Can't you push the diagonal further into the focuser?

Re: powermate on Lunt50THa
If you can't push the diagonal into it, we can switch the focusers

Re: powermate on Lunt50THa
I can get the diagonal a bit further into the focuser, which I will definitely try out. That is as soon as the sun comes back out again, which wont be until next weekend. Thank you all for your help and advice.
