Hi the solar friends,
I want to buy one of the following:
1. Main filter from the old PST CaK (this is the first of four filters in the PST CaK - so called "yellowing" glass. This one is the first filter in count from the
objective side.
2. Ready PST CaK mod.
3. Native PST CaK can be damaged. The only condition I assept is that the main "yellowing" filter (see 1.) is untouched and undamaged.
If you have something to offer, let me know what and how much.
Thanks in advance.
Valery.

Hah! I believe you already have enough of these filters for DS. Don't you? Or do you plan to go further and dive into even narrower CaK slit? :^)marktownley wrote:We all want one of these valery
Triple stack?

Re: Want to by CaK PST mod or original PST CaK
Ok, Walter. I will just send you the link where to buy.
If seriously, if this will be too long, I better buy Lunt 18mm CaK wedge and stack it with CaKPST. Time is critical cause
the solar maximum is over or almost over. Better to work now than then just looking at the second CaKPST arrived with
no chances to be used anywhere soon.
Valery.

Re: Want to by CaK PST mod or original PST CaK
there are plenty of beautiful features to see on the Sun all throughout the solar cycle. The whole premise that there is nothing to see during solar minimum is a "white light" old timers premise.
I wouldn't worry about the solar cycle calming down. its still breathtaking in narrowband every day.

Theoretically, double stacking two 2.2a filters gives a bandwidth of 1.57a, triple stacking should give 1.29a, but, exposure would drop to levels that are not usable by (my) camera.Valery wrote:Hah! That is not to say I would not try triple stacking, in fact I this is already planned for the next swiss visit to see Walter

It was Mark, who is willing to jump to the Switzegland, not me, Walter!
I have no time to trip - - I am anxiously waiting for the QUARK Chromosphere
and for the EO 11nm filter for my CaK telescope .
