iStar 150mm, f8 Objective

Post by MapleRidge »

Hi all...

I am continuing to downsize and sell off some of the scopes that will not be used with any regularity.

So, the iStar scope is one that needs a new home. I posted this as the objective but there is a full tube available without any focuser. For shipping the easiest and most economical method would be to take the objective and build a scope around the objective (conventional or truss tune).

The tube itself is very heavy. There is a set of tube rings and a Losmandy style D plate if that is the route someone wishes to go. The scope does have an adapter to fit a 2" Moonlite focuser if you want to go that way.

I used the OTA primarily for WL/CaK imaging and some Ha too. It is a fine scope on the moon and planets, but there is some slight color on bright objects...not an APO ;)

If anyone has any interest or questions please let me know. I don't think that this objective is produced anymore, and it is the standard achromatic lens not the Ha version.

Tanks,
Brian
