Solar picture of the day

Hi Stephen,
Would it be possible to have a direct link button at the top to the picture of the day, so each day I can just click and view. I just thought perhaps it would be a nice idea rather than having to try and bookmark it everywhere and hunt for it. It's a nice place to look each day.

Regards
Alexandra

Stephen...

My guess is that Alexandra means a link at the top of the main SolarChat page.

your wish is (usually) my command!

to be honest, it benefits the overall legitimacy, and future ad prices (when I retire and can no longer finance all of this :), to have the most hits possible on my main website www.solarastronomy.org so putting the image on here sort of reduces the overall hits there. If I could figure out how I would have made the forum only accessible from the main page of solarastronomy.org but I couldn't.

But, of course, since I am not motivated by profit or money in general (much to my wife's dismay), who cares...?

The image of the day is always going to be 600 pixels wide and available for embedding into any of your websites that you want by using this link http://www.solarastronomy.org/aspod.jpg ..please hyperlink it to www.solarastronomy.org

It will also appear on the solar chat main index everytime you visit this page but will not clutter up any other pages. I will just edit the image to put the author on it if you guys think I should because I cant figure out how to make the text below the image on solarastronomy.org appear below it everywhere else it may be embedded. Im not big on getting image credit but if it makes people feel good when you see your images appreciated by others, and God knows this foum has some great imagers...:), then im all for crediting them.

Any comments, let me kow...

I do not have a web page at this time. Is there a way to share the photo of the day on FB and have it link to Solarastronomy.org?

ya man, just copy the link http://www.solarastronomy.org/aspod.jpg into your status update and post it, should change it into a thumbail and post the current picture... as far as linking it to solarastronomy.org that would have to be a comment post below it.

OK done. Wish there was a way that the pic could be posted so when the friend clicks on it to see it they go to the solarastronomy.org site.

I think Stephen and his attorney throw darts at the pics to choose which one.

well, just informal from my FB and solarchat browsing for the day. Amateur only and whatever looks cool that day. A lot of times there isn't anything to post so I dig up an old one or use one of mine. any suggestions to make it better?

Although the intent was humorous, I do think the dart thing might be good. We do have so many talented members on this forum I am happy it is not my decision.

There has to be some web savvy person who can help us display the pic of the day on our FB and Web sites that when clicked will lead the person directly to solarastronomy.org.

Folks all the expenses are paid by Stephen with only the LITTLE help we do with our donations. The linking would do a little more to help.

I hope there is a person and a way who can help.

I think that a random generator would be great. That way it's totally random and everybody has the same chance as the next to get the pic of the day. Just my 2 cents. :)
