Forum Rules that MUST be followed.

FORUM RULES

I consider it an honor that most of you would take the time to come here and post whatever you want to relate to your solar experience.

Unfortunately, due to some people abusing this open and free forum I have to state a few conditions that you must follow to be allowed to participate here. If you don't follow these VERY lenient rules you may be issued a warning or two before you and your posts are removed, or if it’s bad enough, we may skip the warnings and go straight to removal. It’s not a democracy and there is no appeals process so please don’t harass the moderators. If you are simply here to spam our forum or you have been removed previously and rejoined with fake credentials, you and your post will be removed immediately.

Basically, ***NO POLITICS // NO RELIGION // NO ARGUMENTS // NO OVERINFLATED EGOS // NO DISPARAGING COMMENTS

if you feel the need to act like you know everything and everyone else is wrong, please go to Cloudy Nights or Ice in Space to post your stuff.

***The Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project, Inc and all it's affiliate websites are legally protected entities. Please do not use my name or likeness, or the name or logo(s) of my nonprofit in any for-profit manner in or outside of this website.

I DO NOT ENDORSE ANY AMATEUR ASTRONOMY PRODUCT OTHER THAN THOSE OF OUR STATED SPONSORS AND I DO NOT SELL ANYTHING ON EBAY OR ANY OTHER SITE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR MY NONPROFIT OR ANYONE ELSE.

If you see someone using my name or the nonprofit name or logo to sell something please advise me immediately so I can shut it down.

***ABSOLUTELY NO FUNDRAISING OR SOLICITATIONS ARE ALLOWED ON THIS SITE OTHER THAN THOSE THAT DIRECTLY BENEFIT THE CHARLIE BATES SOLAR ASTRONOMY PROJECT. [/b]

***This is not a vendor complaint forum.[/b] Go over to the other astronomy forums for that stuff.

All of the content on this forum is yours to share as you like without copyright infringement issues[/b] as long as it is not abusive or for-profit. It would be nice if you credited the imager and forum but I’m not going to police that. For Example : " [username] on SolarChat ". If you don’t want your images shared, don’t post them.

***I do not verify any information on this forum so if you read a post that sounds too good to be true or advertises some fantastic solar viewing modification or camera, etc... it quite well could be an exaggeration/scam from the poster or unsafe to use. If anyone purposely posts anything that could be harmful to other users, they, and their posts, will be removed. :) Dont put any crazy recommendations that could hurt others on here.

NEVER VIEW THE SUN THROUGH ANY DEVICE WITHOUT THE PROPER FILTRATION CERTIFIED BY A LEGITIMATE MANUFACTURER. YOU CAN LOSE YOUR EYESIGHT IMMEDIATELY IF YOU MAKE A FOOLISH DECISION WHEN VIEWING THE SUN!!
