Another beautiful blue sky day and I managed a few minutes before work this morning (albeit working from home) to try out the 250mm RCT (just to please Valery). The seeing conditions were pretty good (not perfect) but much, much better than anything I'd seen over the past week, thanks to high pressure over the UK.
Here are a few random shots of the chromosphere taken with a 2.5x powermate and 1.5x Barlow. I took heed of Valerie's suggestions and captured around 5000 frames with my acA1920-155um camera running at 160 frames per second and stacked in my case about 50 frames (set AS!3 to stack 1%).
It's just a pity there are no active regions to focus on.

Re: Chromosphere images with 250mm RCT
Good job Stu, the seeing was the best i've had all week too.
How do you think they compare to the results you get with the 150?

Looks like the seeing was cooperating indeed.
Especially that first image looks great. Nicely done.

Great job with the close-ups, Stu. I observed with the small scope and the large prom was gone.
Glad you enjoyed good seeing and had the opportunity to use the big scope successfully.

Stu:
A very interesting HR session on a rather blank Sun, but the results are outstanding.
Best regards,
Eric.

Hi Stuart,
You must be very glad you took your 250mm RCT out. Stunning results! The first one shows the plasma best, especially wavy. Please Keep them coming.
What did you use as the second filter? Can you post a photo of the setup?
Best.
Alfred
