2 animations for the price of one of the prominence on May 17th.

Post by stef41 »

good morning, everyone,

animation of yesterday's prominence with very average turbulence conditions (especially at the beginning) and a huge DEC drift of the staradventurer who asked me to refocus every 5 minutes (it's laborious) and so I had to do a drastic refocusing!

At the fs60 with its sm40 double stack, BF10, barlow lens x2 + ADC + zwo178mm on staradventurer

173 films of 1000 images between 14h52 and 17h03 UT
video at 7 fps

Stunning capture, particularly for such a small aperture - thanks for posting

Wonderful!!! I was transfixed for ages on the surface one, it really puts the prom into context. You can see the Sun rotate as well, it is actually quite mind blowing :bow :bow :bow
