A few Ha images from Dec 6th
Good day everyone...
I finally had a clear day here yesterday (Sunday) and the sun had multiple active regions to view and image. Unfortunate/y the seeing was quite variable from poor to worse, and the first hour had frequent thin cloud bands pass through while imaging. I guess I need to be ready for winter imaging...cold air makes for bad seeing and the low sun sometimes never escapes the drifting clouds. Before the noon hour it cleared off completely but I had run out of time to redo any of the earlier captures. As a result, the prom images were a lost cause though there were many around the limb that warranted attention.
The first images are full disk Ha taken through the LS80T/DSII/LS75FHa/B1800Ha solar scope (triple stacked) + ASI174MM, shown with multiple colour schemes. A few show some faint prom trails better than others...the blue background is especially noticeable: I lost track of some of the changes I made to each
Now the disk had 3 named AR's and two other regions that showed a lot of detail, so they became the target of the modded CR150/DSII/B1800Ha + 2.7x telecentric + ASI174mm camera. The first image is a 15 frame mosaic that covers most of the southern hemisphere where the named AR's are found. In addition to the AR's there were a couple of nice filaments as well: The second un-named region was found on the NW quadrant along with a few small filaments: This is all the images that were of any use after processing them all last night. Still, a great reward after a long stretch of limited activity in the past few tears.
Questions and comments are always welcome,
Brian

Brian! These are great! I love the colors and the detail. I was observing at the time you took these and your images parallel my visual views. And just look at that laid over prom disconnected from it’s base in the NE. You back up my views well on this. Your images are nice and sharp too!

Lots of details in those images, thanks. Did not know Lunt had a 75 Ha filter.

Re: A few Ha images from Dec 6th
My thanks go out to everyone for the comments and feedback on the images, even the oddly coloured ones
Dan, the Lunt 75mm etalon was short lived and once the internal DS modules were introduced the demand for the etalon seemed to die off. Introduced as a mid range option between the original 50mm and 100mm series of etalons, but the 60mm and 80mm solar scopes that came next had the internal option. I find it works very well on its own but as new solar equipment has come on board here it has only been used to DS the 80mm scope while the dedicated DSII module designed for it is used on my mod.
