Partial and full disc views from the 26th

Post by AJamesB »

The (very long and drawn out) relocation is finally winding down, and I was able to get the solar scope out in the backyard again after about 3 months of not being able to do any imaging at all. Felt good to be out again and almost done with the move!

Images captured at about sea level on a singestack lunt 100, with meteoblue saying I had about 2 arcseconds of seeing. Both images were single captures, then using masked stretch with a range selection to stretch the filaments into view. Full disc is also single image using the 0.5x reducer (cheap one, edges are a bit soft vs the center) on the 178mm. Partial disc is pure 178mm. Processing is a bit rusty as I forgot some of my workflow and coloring settings, but good to be out none the less.

Lovely captures, it must feel great to get back to your solar imaging. I get withdrawals if I don't see the sun. Here in the UK I can go weeks, especially in the winter months. Thanks for sharing.

They came out well, glad you're able to get the scope out again properly!
