Sunny Wednesday 24th March 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

Around mid-morning the weather cleared from the west, as promised, leading to a beautiful afternoon.

Here are some FDs in Ca II K and Ha and an ambitious close up of the two main active regions AR2811/2812. I say ambitious because the conditions late in the morning weren't ideal for this scale on my DS 150/Lunt 35.

First up are the Ca II K images on a 72 mm Altair Lightwave with a Lunt B1800 module/1.5x Barlow/Basler acA2440-75um camera.

...and in the red, a Ha FD on my DS Lunt 60 with the same camera and barlow. Two pane mosaic as the image just misses being on one frame. Rainer's initial still prevails in the north-west.

Then over to the 150mm/Lunt 35 for a two pane mosaic, capturing active regions 2811 and 2812 on a Basler acA1920-155um using a 2.5x PowerMate.

I would have done more, but conference calls meant I had to leave the lovely sunshine behind and in any case the seeing was getting worse.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

These are very nice. Imaging has certainly re-ignited my interest in CaK!!

Many thanks, everyone. Much appreciated.

I re-coloured the Ha FD.
