Lovely garden pics today Alexandra !!!

We awoke to a fresh coat of snow...maybe an inch or two, so our spring flowers are a ways off yet.

Looking good Alexandra, flowers pokin through here today too. The temperature certainly drops off quick in the afternoon though! Make sure you cover any plants that are frost sensitive as it looks like this week will be the most prolonged frosty period we have all winter (even though it is technically spring!). Do you know the last time we had a sustained period of high pressure like this it was last September!!! Jet stream ever since!

Rainer, no but I can't remember the name, my Mum asked me that as well when I showed her it via Skype on Sunday. It is actually very small

The others are Marsh Marigold (grow well in our garden) and Hyacinth.

It has been getting very cold overnight, down to about 1-3 degrees, so no ice yet. I can't imagine snow.

Hi all...

Well, looking west out of the living-room window this afternoon is certainly not a warm as Alexandra's ;)

A couple of cold doves sitting under the bird feeder is about all the 'life' in the pic here.

Lovely pics to raise the spirits, Alexandra. The birds were singing beautifully in the spring sunshine yesterday too.

Yikes!! I couldn't imagine still having frozen snow on the ground in the back garden

I think I have found the name of that miniature blossom tree it took ages to search, I think it is Prunus incisa 'Kojo-no-mai'
Fuji cherry.

Derek...

I was below freezing over night which got the layer on the ground, but managed to warm up a bit above freezing to keep the day long flurries from accumulation any more. The raw east wind was the worst part of the day.

More than normal here, and for another month before I write the snow off for the season ;)
