Conjunction Continues

Post by MapleRidge »

Hi everyone...

The skies cleared here just before sunset, which allowed a view of the show on the western horizon...Venus and the moon have drifted apart but Venus is drawing closer to M45 as each day passes.

I grabbed a few images using my Canon 60D and a zoom lens mounted on a fixed tripod, with one image with the lens set at 18mm to get the moon and Venus and a second image set at approx 80mm which highlights Venus and M45. Intermittent clouds were drifting though but they only added to the scenery ;)

The forecast calls for a lot of clear weather over the next 5 days, so I am hoping to be able to follow the passage of Venus through the stars of M45.

Brilliant to see Brian, we're in a cloudy regime at the moment so nice to see what's happening with it.

Oh how I wish the clouds would clear away now, and last weeks clear weather was this week instead. I have an ISS transit of the Moon on Friday too - forecast cloud :(

Mark, Alexandra, and Franco...

Thanks everyone for your comments on the images :bow

Clear tonight so this may be my best chance to catch Venus this close to the cluster...cloud in forecast tomorrow night. I'll post them once I get them downloaded, along with 2 days of solar work that is waiting to be processed.

Turning dry here, so the rush is picking up at work...Covid-19 or not, crops need to be planted ;)
