Spring is in full swing and all the flowers are blooming. The Bluebells are starting to dominate the woodland floor on our walks too

Re: All the flowers are blooming
Hi Alexandra,
Very nice but most impressive is that cactus " mamilaria bombycina " flowering in a climate like UK. I have never seen that beautiful creamy color of the flower here in Mexico. BTW I live in a state where we have an immense amount of different cacti flowering all over the year.
It is quite difficult to get them to have flowers while kept captive. Excellent job.
I like your kiosk.

Re: All the flowers are blooming
I had no idea the name of the cactus, I was given it as a child so it has been with me a long time. After about 10-20 years it started to flower and has done every year but it is a disappointing pale cream, still pretty in the sunshine though. The flowers close up at night. I don't water it at all between the 1st Nov and 1st March, then it flowers from April onwards. I didn't know it came from Mexico either. It is mighty horrible if you brush past it, it never lets go

Interesting because I have rarely seen that creamy colour in wild. For me that is an astounding colour. I understand you might want to see more powerful colours but that is a rarity for me.... but it is a disappointing pale cream, ...

Your garden looks great with the flowers starting to put on their show The flowers along the walk in in the woods are lovely too...just a hint of green starting to show in the sugar bush today.

Lovely flowers Alexandra. Fi says they're great. Thanks for the info on the cactus Rainer, we thought we had one too, but looks like is subtly different.

Say hello to Fiona for me
Rainer, I forgot to say, the 'kiosk' is my little greenhouse. If you look carefully you will see my Sweetcorn growing nicely in the window
