WoW! You are in a great position to see the galactic center probably nearly overhead. And you can the the Clouds of Magellan too! I am sorely jealous.
I did get a decent view of the Milky Way last week from my dad's. He has nice dark skies where he lives. I can see the Milky way from my home but light pollution does wash it out a bit.

I live in light polluted suburbia, so no chance to even catch the faintest glimp of the Milky Way. But I try to venture out to dark skies a few times a year to go and see it; never ceases to amaze.

Thanks .Yes we have some great skies within easy reach but these are slowly dissappearing as the Gold Coast grows.
