First Quarter Moon, Jupiter and Saturn

Post by MapleRidge »

Hi all...

I have had more time to observe/image in the evening lately, and while setting up to image Jupiter on the evening of September 23rd I ran a few images of the moon through the C9.25" Edge with IR pass filter and the ASI1600MM camera. This is a 3 image mosaic:

The image of Jupiter below was taken through the C9.25 Edge @ f15, IR680nm filter, and the ASI290MM camera. Jupiter and Saturn have both been a challenge due to the low elevation and poor seeing. Still, Jupiter has a lot of atmospheric changes going on this year and its always great to view this giant.

Not top pass on Saturn, the image below was taken through the C14 @ f11 using the same filter/camera as the Jupiter image above on September 12th.

I certainly do like them, Brian. Very nice images. The Moon in particular is stunning.
