Moon December 28th and Full Moon 29th

Post by Carbon60 »

An enhanced colour image of the moon at 98% full.

250mm RCT scope with a Nikon D5500 at native focal length. 3 strongly overlapping panes. Shot as movie files and converted to AVIs using PIPP then stacked, stitched, sharpened and colour saturated to bring out the natural colours of the moon.

Thanks for looking.

That's a real beauty Stuart, and very naturally coloured too, sometimes folks over saturate and it looks weird, this is very subtle and beautiful :bow :hamster: I've still not tried this, I must get my act together

Many thanks, Terry, Franco, Rainer and Alexandra.

Full Moon tonight, so if the sky remains clear, I’m hoping to have another go. Maybe with some closer views.

Cheers

Stu.

Thanks Alexandra. I know what you mean. Some go really overboard and make the images way over saturated. I do prefer a more natural look. I think I’ve finally cracked it with the RCT/camera combo. :)

When we went out for a walk last night we looked up at the Moon and admired it. I commented that you were imaging that tonight and we both shuddered and said 'it's too cold to stand around in the snow and image'. So we thought of you frozen in the snow :) well done Stuart, you deserve a medal for bravery :hamster: and a super image too :bow

Hi Alexandra,

It was cold for sure (I can almost hear Brian laughing.....he knows real cold), but my shoes were freezing to the driveway

Hi Stuart...

That made me chuckle

Not making fun of you in the cold either, but I don't think I've had my shoes freeze to the driveway. I'll give top marks for going out and doing the imaging in the weather that is not so common for you!
