Early morning July 6th
Early morning July 6th
Had to get an early start before the wind and cloud blew in from the Thunder down Under......John. its here!
seeing was average, but a good bit of practice to get my processes better!
The 5" mod seems to be working well. Cant wait for some great seeing!
John, I thried to get the DS more even....then chucked the ds off to the side and shot the FD single. Im thinking Im selling the ds portion! Tired of messing about with it!

Thank you Alexandra!
Im finding it nearly impossible to tune the front etalon without having huge issues with even brightness/on band.... With tilt tune fronts its almost impossible to keep the disk even.... Its driving me nuts!
That is one of those things ive just never been able to overcome!

Thanks buddy!
My 60 is pressure tuned like yours, but the front ds unit is tilt tuned. Thats the one that causes the uneven coverage! Damn thing sucks. Lol

Re: Early morning July 6th
you will never overcome the uneven illumination with a full disk image and tilt tuned etalon. Its the nature of the optics. This is also what gives the older Coronado's the unmatched 3D look when you use a big double stacked 90. The uneven illumination is aesthetically pleasing and our eyes can adjust each pixel to compensate.
Why not just image with the single pressure tuned etalon? You should be able to get most of the same details with some camera and PS skills. In fact, the prominences will be far easier to capture.

The FD above is just the pressure tuned 60 single. I found it does get nice detail with the dmk51 if its set correctly! Im just going to use my ds unit for visual use.
Or maybe....... A new mod unit is about to be pulled apart?
