Question on Potential White Light Setup

Post by Bagpiper2004 »

Hi All,

What are your thoughts on using a Lunt Engineering 102mm F7 ED Doublet with a 2" Lunt Solar Wedge for white light solar imaging? I will be using a monochrome CCD video camera.

Thanks,

Mike

I am sure it will be great, you should be able to see some lovely granulation with this.

You may also want some filters too, perhaps a solar continuum filter which is green and helps add contrast to the granulation. Also perhaps a UV/IR cut filter to reduce the out of focus light but only if you are imaging.

Like Alexandra says, will be great. Just make sure you are using the correct filters with it.

Hi Alexandra and Mark,
Thanks for the input. And I do have a UV/IR cut filter. I have been using it with my PGR Grasshopper3 (Sony IMX174) and Astrotech AT65EDQ for lunar imaging.
Cheers,
Mike
