HOW TO EMBED YOUR IMAGE USING FLICKR

Post by Montana »

Perhaps Stephen can pin this for a while.

If you upload your images to Flickr there is no need to use the IMG function.

In your photostream you will see this arrow
Gordon 2.jpg
Gordon 2.jpg (88.56 KiB) Viewed 1381 times
Click on it and you will see this
Gordon.jpg
Gordon.jpg (105.31 KiB) Viewed 1381 times
Click on BBCode

Choose the image size, I would choose large, the forum will resize it for the post but will put a magnifing glass at the top left corner, when you click on it, it will open up at the large size.

Copy the URL

Paste the URL in the text of your message, job done, don't add anything else.

Gif images

If you add a gif animation to Flickr it will not play in the photostream, it is there though.

To embed in your post, click Share (see pic 1), BBcode and pick the size 'original' and copy this URL and paste it in your post.

If you want to view it personally in Flickr - in the top web address you will see something like this
"//www.flickr.com/photos/alexandra4/263259 ... 580977403/"

delete the last portion and write 'sizes' like so
"//www.flickr.com/photos/alexandra4/26325995316/sizes"

and click enter, click on 'Original' and it will play for you.

I hope this helps, it is really simple :)

I made it a "sticky" post. I think you can do this also by choosing the type post on the bottom of the posting window but I don't know because I get a different set of options that you do.

And for Photobucket users all you need to do is hover on the three lines top left of the thumbnail image in your
album , this will show a selection of options , click on the "Share" option and a new window will appear , just click
on the "Photo link" box on the right-hand side and the link will flash up as "Copied" , then just return to your post
and right-click then 'Paste' that link in the appropriate place ... ;)
