Ha images taken on Aug 7 and 8 with the C8 Edge-HD

Dear All,

Here are some images taken on August 7 and 8 with the C9 Edge-HD.

The seeing was only average on August 7 :

Seeing gradually improved on August 8 :

This one was taken with the Solar Scintillation Monitor at 0.4 arscec :

Now, here is a 70mn long animation of this prominence with 2 frames / mn. "coronograph display". The file is 6 Mo :

The same one with the disk visible. The file is 41 Mo :

In both cases, you will probably have to first download the file on your computer, then open it with Mediaplayer. If you have Safari browser, you can open the files directly from the links.

To finish with, here is the flare (max intensity C5) which was visible at 13 h UT :

Clear sky !

Superb animation Christian, the first was spot on and looked better just the proms to me, fine detail & plenty of fireworks left side.

Amazing captures!

ION 0,3A works so nicely for you!

Thanks for sharing.

Top images, Christian. I'm amazed at how well some of the prominences separate from the background disk.
