Sunday Sunshine 11th September

Post by marktownley »

Over a month since I did any solar observing with one thing or another, so I wasn't going to let the high cirrus stop me. First off the CaK; full disk at 40mm, closer at 60mm...

Single stack full disk at 40mm...

80mm scope and the double stacked quark

Then I tried out the DS quark on the 127mm Meade AR5 scope as the seeing was just not supporting the 203mm HaT, quite pleased with the results, I need to fine tune this scope a bit more to use it more often...

Less than ideal conditions, but better than a poke in the eye ;)

Hope you like,

Mark

Excellent set Mark. Doesn't look like the cirrus bothered you too much.

Nice filaprom, Mark.
I did some imaging later than these were taken as the filaprom had just about become a plain old prom but couldn't do much in the conditions.

Those are fantastic, Mark. I must be doing something wrong with my Quark/PST etalon, I'll post my results in the thread in the Mod forum.

Fabulous images, Mark. You certainly made the best of the conditions.

I agree with Stu.
Terrific set Mark.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping (maybe!) for a quick full disk after work today, but instead we had thunderstorms...
