Spent all morning messing about with WinJUPOS and gave up, here is a regular animation of some reflected sunlight

and the last day of the holiday was very wet, so Andy took us to an extinct volcano. It was amazing, I have never seen anything like it, there were garnets everywhere all over the floor. I spent 2 hrs on my hands and knees just marvelling at them. My hubby found a huge one for me, it weighs 5g so that was a lovely gift.
So some geology (no birds) for the last holiday pics :)

Super shots given todays conditions! The garnets are cool, Fiona was most impressed and says she wants to go, so, expect a grilling on them when she sees you ;)

Good stuff Alexandra.
Noticed you were looking for WinJupos info; here are some links:

Not an easy program to use but lots of possibilities.

Thanks everyone :) and thanks for the WinJupos info, I think I will have lots of spare time to learn it :(

I went to work today, so a quick update. I am at home basically until further notice apart from weekly update meetings to attend on Tuesdays. The Institute is a mess after the fire but thankfully lots has been saved. Our -80 freezer was off for 2 days but my boss was astounded to find it was still at -40 degrees 2 days later! so the prostate serum bank of 300 patients is saved :) Everywhere is full of dirt and water and no power. They are currently trying to recover the computer network from the disaster recovery point in Stockport. So I guess it will be solar observing for me until further notice ;)

Great images, Alexandra. I really like the Jupiter animation, with the great red spot.
